Fees and Rebates
Fees for the initial consultation (75 minutes) are $250 and subsequent sessions (50 minutes) are charged at $200. Consultation fees are payable at the time of the session via Visa, Mastercard, ETFPOS or cash. No referral is required unless you wish to claim on Medicare.
Medicare Rebates
Medicare rebates are available for psychological consultations through Medicare's Better Access Scheme. As of January 1, 2023 eligible people can receive a rebate of $89.65 per session for up to 10 individual sessions with a registered psychologist in a calendar year. If you would like to access this rebate you will need to see your GP to provide you with a Mental Health Care Plan. If you would like to be assessed for a Mental Health Care Plan, you should book a longer session with your GP to enable time for this.
Private Health Fund Rebates
You may be able to claim a rebate for psychological therapy through your private health fund. These vary based on your cover so it is recommended you check with your health fund directly. Please note that you can use either Medicare or your private health insurance but not both when claiming rebates.
Cancellations
If you are unable to attend an appointment please notify by phone or email at your earliest convenience so I have the opportunity to offer your appointment time to another client. A cancellation fee of 100% will be charged if less than 24 hours notice is provided and a 50% fee will be charged if less than 48 hours notice is provided prior to your appointment. Charges incurred for cancellations without required notice are not claimable through Medicare or private health funds and do attract GST.
